Actual View from Stonybrook Six - From the Living Room, Dining Room, and Master Bedroom
Your Stowe Vermont Vacation Dream - Come True
|
When you are planning a Stowe Vermont Vacation, Stonybrook is one of the
premier places to stay.
Ideally located between the village and the mountain, this 2-bedroom condo has
a breathtaking view (see above) - over the front lawn, to the rail fence, then to the
hay field and historic farm house, and finally on up the valley to a
spectacular panorama of both Mt Mansfield and Spruce Peak.

This is one of the few livingrooms in Stonybrook, indeed one of the few livingrooms anywhere in Stowe, where you can sit in either couch and see Mt Mansfield.
Even more rarely, when sitting in the rear couch, or just walking around the unit, you can see both Mt Mansfield and Spruce Peak - not to mention the hayfield and historic farmhouse in the foreground.

Throughout the unit are professionally taken
Vermont photos, including ski shots, native scenery and cows from the
neighboring farm. While you are visiting, you have no question that you
are "in Vermont."
The photo over the mantle is a dramatic sunrise view of a nearby Vermont farm cottage, taken by Jim Rathmell, a Burlington, Vermont photographer.
The entertainment system includes a new 37" Plasma HDTV, TiVo DVR, DVD & VCR Players and WiFi Internet access. Fireplace includes complimentary wood. (Note the wood bin on the patio deck to right)

Dining Room includes place settings for six. The dining room Mountain view (not shown) is the same as the living room - i.e. the view at the top of this Home page.
On the wall behind the table are three photos taken by Jeff Schneiderman of Williston, VT - depicting three closeup shots of a Vermont frosted window pane, a turkey feather, and looking down through four feet of ice on Lake Champlain.
Now, after spilling the beans to you, your assigned task, should you choose to accept it, is to challenge the rest of your family and visitors to guess what these three pictures actually are!

Perched on the counter is the famous Stonybrook Six Vermont Cow Soap Dispenser. For the delight of all ages, upon grabbing her and pressing firmly down, she responds with two marvelously genuine Mooooos!

The Master Bedroom has two closets, a flat screen TV, a chest with dressing mirror, and a king size bed with mattress specifications designed to match the widely-praised Westin Heavenly Bed.
The two photos are a close-up of the lens of a New England lighthouse, and pebbles in a mountain stream. On the opposite wall is a great shot of a rustic, Vermont red barn.
In the morning you awake to the view over the upper patio deck to the left, taking in the same inspiring panorama as from the living room and dining room.

Photo by Dennis Curran, famous Vermont ski photographer. Depicted is a fabulous shot of a skier bursting out of the trees on a trail somewhere in Stowe. On the opposite wall is a striking sunset picture of a newly mown and hay-bailed field with the Adirondacks in the background. Taken in a field near Monkton, Vermont

And last but not least, in the upstairs hall are some marvelous, personally taken photos of the true black and white, Vermont cows that graze in the neighboring farm during the summer. But for those refreshing and charming shots, you must come, visit, and see for yourself!

Trails like this skirt the open fields of Stonybrook's friendly neighbor, the majestic Strawberry Hill Farm, which is on the hill right behind the condo. For walking, hiking, or biking these trails are a marvelous way to explore Stowe's woods in the summer, not only immediately around the farm, but also all the way up the ravine to leads to another farm complex atop the hill above the neighboring town of Moscow.
